I'm an uncle!

I became an uncle on December 1st, over a week ago. Now I have a niece named Lilly. Among my ongoing priorities, my first was traveling to Southern Illinois so I could see her. That's why I've been an absent blogger for a little whi—omg, it's been a month since I last posted anything. Whoops. Still, becoming an uncle excuses everything, right?

Me holding Lilly in a department store after lunching with my family at Lambert's Cafe in Missouri.

You can't see it in the picture, but her whirly hair makes her look like the living manifestation of a species invented by Dr. Seuss.

In the lead-up to Lilly's birth, I attended her baby shower, which involved me playing a game. My mom melted various different candy bars onto an assortment of diapers. The objective was to correctly guess said candy bars. I did not win, and all I have to show for my effort is me sniffing a diaper, which is not weird at all.

To the right, you'll see my cousin silently judging me with mild amusement.

Now that Lilly, this sweet little angel, has entered our lives, it's got me thinking. After all, there is nothing like having a child. You know, maybe, just maybe... NOPE, children are out of the question. I'd rather not hallucinate from sleep deprivation. My poor, poor sister and brother-in-law.
